Seven generations,
one unique product
In 1830, when ancestors of the Fuentes Lopez family started cultivating their first olive groves, they had no idea of the legacy they were creating. Seven generations later, the volume of their once modest cultivation has increased significantly, producing outstanding quality Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO). Mancha Real, a village located in Southern Spain,is the birthplace of this expanding family venture.
Our Farms
Nowadays, the Fuentes Lopez family has expanded their crops from Mancha Real to different towns: Baeza, Torres and Torrequebradilla (all of which are located in the province of Jaén, the World Capital of Extra Virgin Olive Oil). Each olive grove was given a unique name: Rosales, Soguero, Hoyo Mateo, La Campiñuela, El Cerrajón, Pulpite, La Laguna and La Esparraguera. There are thousands of olive trees, many of them hundreds of years old, which speaks volumes about the Fuentes Lopez’ family commitment to the countryside, and developing a quality product. The fruit is harvested and later produced into Extra Virgin Olive Oil using traditional methods. Each of the different stages of the process is closely monitored: production, harvest, manufacture, packing and distribution. To ensure the highest quality of Extra Virgin Olive Oil possible, the Fuentes Lopez family harvests only one variety of olives, Picual olives.
The Future
The sixth generation committed themselves to expanding their olive groves in Spain. The challenge now set for the younger family members is to focus on expanding their brand internationally, Canada being their first target for their Extra Virgin Olive Oil, under the trademark, FUENOLIVA.
